The SIC news program “Grande Reportagem” highlighted the work of CIIMAR in the field of marine biotechnology and featured researchers Vítor Vasconcelos, Joana Reis de Almeida, and Raquel Silva (LEGE CC – Blue Biotechnology and Ecotoxicology Culture Collection).

The report focused on the biotechnological potential of cyanobacteria and their applications, ranging from the textile to the naval industry, showcasing the example of antifouling paints developed at CIIMAR – 100% biological and free from petrochemicals.
